The question stopped me as I bounced down the flight of stairs at a nearby hospital. I’d never thought of it in that way. Of course God is my Heavenly Father; but, do I live as if HE is.
Matthew 7:9-11, “ Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!“
Many of us understand what salvation means. We understand the Cross and the sacrifice Jesus Christ made on our behalf. But do we live as if we are His children? Do we understand the love He has for us?
Most of us do not; because, most of us do not believe we can be loved to the depth we are loved by God. Greater than any love a father on earth could express for his child, God loves us so much more. As His children, we need to realize who we are in Him.
Today is Father’s Day and I wish to all of you who are fathers a wonderful day. For those of you celebrating with your dads, please enjoy the time you have with them.
But also today, take time today to reflect on the tremendous love of your Heavenly Father. Celebrate that you are His.
“ neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 8:39.
