1 Peter 5:7, “Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.”
I remember a time when Connie and I were first married and honestly couldn’t rub two nickels together. Connie is the type of person who can pinch a penny until it’s blue; and our pennies were looking bluer than bluer.
One morning when I truly didn’t know how I was going to pay the bills that month, I thought of this verse. It isn’t just lip service or feel good words. It is God’s promise to us as our Father. It was actually a childhood song my Sunday School teacher used to sing to open our class for the morning, “I cast all my cares upon You. I lay all my burdens down at Your feet. And anytime I don’t know what to do, I will cast all my cares upon You.” And the song prompted me to do just that…
Any time I feel overwhelmed or anxious, I remember this day and how a song from God’s promises brought me hope and encouragement. It can for you as well.
Whatever you are facing today, cast your cares upon Him; for He cares for you.
