Today is Veteran’s Day. It is a tremendous day for our country because without this day, we would not be the people we are.
To have freedom, lives must be lost long before they should have been; children must become fatherless or motherless; parents must lose children; husbands must lose wives, and wives must lose husbands.
There is nothing easy about freedom.
Take the time today to thank our military for the sacrifices they make every day for the safety of our homeland and the freedoms we enjoy. Take the time to remember all who have fallen at the hands of our enemies so that we can live and do as we wish. Take the time to reflect on the traditions of the great country where we are privileged to live.
While the storm clouds gather far across the sea,
Let us swear allegiance to a land that’s free,
Let us all be grateful for a land so fair,
As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer. ”
God Bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America, My home sweet home.
(Irving Berlin, 1918)
Thank you to all who serve in our armed forces and all who have lost their lives for our freedom.
John 15:13, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.“
Great comments Mike. You brighten my day every morning with your devotionals, and I really appreciate all you do for our community.
