The Resurrection

Today we celebrate the most significant event in the history of the world – the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

This morning as I knelt to pray and commune with God, I thought of the disciples. The night Jesus was arrested, they hid in fear. Some of them ran. They weren’t fighting for Jesus; preaching His words; or even claiming to know Him. No, when Jesus was arrested, every doubt imaginable consumed them.

But when Sunday came, everything changed.

And because the evidence was indisputable, they spent the remainder of their lives, spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They were persecuted, beaten, tortured, and killed for their belief. But once He arose from the dead, the consequences of serving Him mattered little. For once He returned from the grave – life changed.

I was asked once how I knew Jesus actually made it off the cross. And while I could have given historical evidence and Biblical proof, the most significant evidence is the devotion of the disciples. Because they saw Christ, there was no reason to doubt and every reason to spread the word about Him.

Today, I challenge you to be a disciple of Jesus Christ; to spread the word of His resurrection; to rejoice in His victory over sin and death; and to praise our mighty King for what He has done for you and for me.

I wish you a wonderful day celebrating with friends and family.

Happy Easter!
